Genocide continues in Gaza as Israel blocks vaccine syringes for children, says UNICEF
GAZA: Israel has blocked the entry of vaccine syringes and baby formula bottles meant for children in Gaza, UNICEF confirmed.
The United Nations children’s agency said Israel’s actions are worsening the humanitarian crisis and amount to ongoing genocide in the region. UNICEF stated that its supplies have been stuck in customs since August, waiting for clearance.
According to the agency’s spokesperson, Israel has labeled syringes and refrigerators as “dual-use” items, products that could be used for both civilian and military purposes. This classification has made their inspection and approval extremely difficult, even though these items are urgently needed to vaccinate children and store medicines safely.
UNICEF said it remains unable to deliver life-saving supplies to those in need due to the restrictions, calling on the world to take notice of Israel’s deliberate obstruction of humanitarian aid in Gaza.
