MAKKAH: Hajj pilgrims will return once again at the Grand Mosque in Makkah to perform Eid-ul-Adha prayers and for Tawaf Al-Ifadah marking the completion of the annual pilgrimage.

In this regard, the General Presidency for Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has made preparation to welcome millions of people for Eid-ul-Adha prayer and the success of the largest operational plan.

The General President of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, announced the full readiness of the Grand Mosque to perform the Tawaf Al-Ifadah and the Eid ul-Adha prayer in the Haramain Sharifain tomorrow morning to facilitate the completion of the Hajj rituals with ease.

Al-Sudais confirmed that the Presidency has implemented an independent operational plan to handle the management of Hajj pilgrims during the performance of the rituals, taking into consideration the millions of crowds flowing to the Haramain Sharifain after the completion of the Hajj rituals.

The agencies of the Presidency have prepared several alternative operational plans according to the expected scenarios due to the significant increase in visitors and worshippers.

The measures were taken after reports indicated that the number of visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque exceeded 20 million throughout the Ramadan season, and similar numbers are expected in the Grand Mosque.

The General President continued that the Presidency has taken into account the full utilization of the third Saudi expansion as well as the full utilization of King Fahd’s expansion and all the courtyards of the Grand Mosque for worshippers while applying the highest environmental protection standards in the prayer areas.

He said utmost priority has been given to ensuring the smooth flow of crowds, ease of movement, and prevention of congestion and stampedes.
