‘Very dangerous’ nuclear bombs were seen travelling on a truck down a UK highway

Campaigners are outraged after seeing an unannounced military convoy trundling down a highway.

On their journey to Scotland, the convoy of olive-green military vehicles was seen passing through portions of Lancashire and Cumbria, angering locals who saw the “dangerous convoys” transporting nuclear supplies.

On its trip to Scotland, a convoy of the trucks is claimed to have travelled through Kirkham, Preston, Garstand, Lancaster, Kendal, Penrith, and Carlisle.

Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), a disarmament organisation, thinks the trucks had nuclear weapons because their tracker indicated that UK Trident missiles were in motion.

Although the Ministry of Defence has been transporting nuclear material on UK roadways for 50 years, it has yet to record any incidents that could have exposed the public or environment to radiation hazards.

However, Philip Gilligan, a spokesman for CND, has stated that the convoys are “growing in regularity” and may be having an impact on individuals nearby.

“These very frightening convoys seem to be passing by our homes, schools, and hospitals with nuclear bombs with ever-increasing regularity,” Gilligan added.

“At the same time, those of us who are most likely to be affected by an accident involving one are given little, if any, information about when they will pass our homes or about the specific dangers involved.”

“At a bare minimum, we need to know if and exactly how we can start to protect ourselves and our children from the alpha emitting plutonium and uranium particles which could be dispersed if an explosion resulted from an accident involving one of these MoD carriers,” continued Gilligan in an interview with LancashireLive.

Better yet, these convoys should be completely removed from our roadways. Nuclear missiles are unnecessary, and driving without them would make everyone considerably safer.

Defense nuclear materials are only transferred when necessary, according to a MoD official, who also noted that the public’s safety and security come first.

The MOD is prepared to respond to any event, and all convoy operations adhere to strict and safe standards.
