ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee appreciated by 0.5 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Monday, closing at Rs278.87, compared to the previous session’s Rs278.92.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the US dollar in the open market stood at Rs279.30 and Rs280.80, respectively.
Meanwhile, the euro declined by 48 paisa, closing at Rs290.55 compared to the last session’s Rs291.03, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen remained stable at Rs1.79, while the British pound rose by 23 paisa to Rs347.25, up from the previous closing of Rs347.02.
Additionally, the exchange rates of the Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal dropped by 2 paisa each, settling at Rs75.92 and Rs74.34, respectively.
