HAFIZABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has claimed that if he had not been ousted from power again and again, Pakistan would have been among prosperous countries of the world.
He said this while making his maiden public speech in Hafizabad on Thursday in connection with the upcoming elections.
In his opening remarks, the three-time former prime minister said that his mission is putting "Pakistan back on its feet". He added that the country would be amongst prospering states if he was not ousted from power again and again.
He expressed admiration for the people of Hafizabad, commending their warm reception.

The PML-N supreme leader recounted his removal from power, attributing it to his son's failure to provide salaries. He asserted that had his government completed its term, unemployment among the youth would have been eradicated, farmers would have experienced prosperity, power tariffs would not have increased, and inflation would have been mitigated.
The former prime minister contended that Pakistan could have achieved global prominence if he had not been repeatedly ousted from the prime minister's office. Emphasizing his current mission, he declared a commitment to revitalizing Pakistan.

During a rally, Nawaz pledged to develop Hafizabad similarly to Lahore and connect the district to the motorway network if elected.
Having served as prime minister for over 9 years, Nawaz became the longest-serving premier. Despite being elected three times in 1990, 1997, and 2013, he never completed a full five-year term.
