Rains likely in Lahore and upper parts of Punjab

Rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in parts of Punjab on Monday evening/night and Tuesday.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave is likely to affect upper parts of the country.

Under these conditions, mainly dry weather is likely in most districts of the province on Monday evening/night and Tuesday. Gusty/dust raising winds will occur in Layyah, Bahawalpur, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan during the period.

However, windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Talagang, Sargodha, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Narowal on Monday evening/night. Windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is likely in Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal and Talagang on Tuesday.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40-42°C on Tuesday and 41-43°C on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Bhakkar remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. Maximum temperature in Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Jhelum was recorded at 44°C.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 22 per cent.
