"Dead to Me" will return for its Third and Last Season This Fall

Since 2020, fans have been looking forward to the new season.

It’s official: Dead to Me will return to Netflix for one final season this fall!

Fans were first informed that the program would return for a second season in 2020, and now they can finally mark their calendars for a fall premiere date.

Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini, and James Marsden feature in this dark comedy about two women who find companionship in a grieving support group.

While fans will miss Jen Harding (Applegate) and Judy Hale (Cardellini), the show’s creator Liz Feldman had another show, No Good Deed, greenlit by Netflix this year.

According to a statement from the Netflix the new show will be another “dark comedy that follows three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish style villa that they think will solve all their problems. But as the sellers have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a total nightmare.”

“No good Liz Feldman project can go unproduced,” said Tracey Pakosta, Head of Comedy at Netflix. “She has an unmatched eye for dark comedy. And as we enter the final season of the brilliant Dead to Me, we are thrilled to continue our partnership with No Good Deed.”

Feldman, Jessica Elbaum, and Will Ferrell serve as executive producers for Gloria Sanchez Prods., Christie Smith, Applegate, and Adam McKay on Dead to Me. Cardellini is a co-executive producer on the film. CBS Television Studios’ Dead to Me is a Netflix original series.

Applegate, 50, was nominated for an Emmy in season 1 for her depiction of the show’s grieving widow.

“I didn’t even think that I was remotely close to having this day so it’s shocking. I mean, look at who I am standing there with!” she told people after learning of the nod.

“I was like, ‘There is no way.’ Yes, people have been really, really complimentary of the show and that’s felt really nice because it doesn’t always happen like that, but still I was like, ‘How’d I squeeze in there?'”
