Two arrests after stolen car hits police officer in Weoley Castle

While attempting to pull over a vehicle that may have been stolen, a police officer was struck by the vehicle and sustained multiple fractured bones.

After being observed in Weoley Castle in Birmingham at approximately 23:30 GMT on Friday, other police officers began to pursue a Ford Fiesta, according to the statements made by the police.

When the officer was hit by the vehicle, he was attempting to use a stinger, which is a strip of spikes designed to puncture tyres.

According to West Midlands Police, he was then sent to a medical facility for treatment.

After that, police officers pulled over the Ford, and two males, ages 32 and 46, were taken into custody on suspicion of driving recklessly.
