Expo 2020 has gotten off to a fast start in Dubai

Expo 2020 Dubai, the first World Expo to be hosted in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, is off to a strong start, with 411,768 ticketed visits in the first 10 days.

Expo 2020 opened its doors on October 1st, and statistics up to and including October 10th reveal that visitors came from 175 different nations, not far short of the 192 countries that will be represented at the event, each with their own pavilion.

One in every three people has traveled from another country, and this number is projected to rise as international travel becomes more common.

According to Dimitri Kerkentzes, secretary-general of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), “Expo 2020 Dubai’s opening week has undoubtedly been a success.”

He added, “The numbers we are seeing are very encouraging and demonstrate the global desire for people to reconnect with each other and to imagine a better future.”

Visitors may choose from a variety of ticket choices, with multi-day and season passes being particularly popular.

One out of every five visitors returns to the expo, indicating that a single day is insufficient to experience the broad and vibrant assortment of activities and entertainment on offer.

As per Reem Al Hashimy, director-general of Expo 2020 Dubai, “We are very happy with this wonderful turnout.”

“The numbers achieved in the first ten days reflect the enthusiasm of the world to attend Expo 2020 Dubai.”

“The coming days and weeks will be full of special events offering a visitor experience that will be rich, purposeful, and entertaining, and we look forward to welcoming many more people from around the world,” he added.

All physical ticket holders are included in the numbers.

They exclude international participants’ representatives, delegations, and visitors, as well as partners and other stakeholders, as well as exhibition personnel.
