When a groom slipped his wedding ring into a storm drain immediately after the ceremony, the Chicago Fire Department responded to the rescue.
After his wedding on Saturday, Anthony Serritella said he was showing off his wedding ring to a friend when the ring dropped off his finger and down into a storm drain.
Serritella stated that the ring was very valuable to him because it was his father’s wedding ring.
The Chicago Fire Department was notified, and Engine 98 was dispatched to the location.
The ring was recovered by firefighters who crawled into the storm drain.
Last year, a New York Fire Department team performed a similar rescue when the ring from a New Year’s Eve engagement fell into a storm drain.
After the proposal, Danny Tay and Asha Cesar stated they were heading back to their car when the ring dropped off Cesar’s finger and down the storm drain.
To get the ring out of the sewer, the crew of Engine 249 in Brooklyn utilized coat hangers and duct tape.
