Islamabad and Rawalpindi, along with several parts of Pakistan, are expected to experience light to moderate rains on Thursday evening and Friday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
A shallow westerly wave is currently present over the upper regions of Pakistan and is likely to persist for the next 36 hours, causing these weather conditions.
Specifically, isolated places in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and the Pothohar region are expected to witness light to moderate rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms on Thursday evening and night.
On Friday, most parts of the country are expected to have mainly dry weather, with hotter temperatures in southern areas. However, isolated areas in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby hilly regions may experience light rain, wind, and thunderstorms.
In terms of temperature, Islamabad is expected to have maximum temperatures ranging between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius on Friday and 30-32 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Similarly, Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will range from 28 to 30 degrees Celsius on Friday and 30-32 degrees Celsius on Saturday.
