‘Unknown business contact’ Messages will now be notified to WhatsApp users

WhatsApp introduces two new safety features for users

On WhatsApp beta for Android, the feature is only available to a select group of beta testers.

The Meta-owned instant messaging network is introducing a new feature that will alert users when an unrecognized corporate account attempts to contact them.

Although WhatsApp currently informs users when an unfamiliar user contacts them, this feature is unique in that the notification is shown at the bottom of the conversation, according to WABetaInfo.

“The new feature shows a message at the bottom of the chat, informing you that the user is not saved in your contact list,” according to the WhatsApp update tracker.

Previously, the indication “user not in your contact list” showed next to the user’s most recent incoming message. Users will be able to either add new business accounts to their saved contact list or block them using these new features.

However, the functionality is said to be limited to a small number of WhatsApp beta testers on Android, so those who don’t see their version updated will have to wait for further activations and upgrades.

It was previously reported that the corporation is developing new apps for Windows and macOS consumers all around the world.

WhatsApp users on Windows may now install a new application through the Universal Windows Platform, which is separate from WhatsApp Desktop, according to WABetaInfo.

Furthermore, the platform revealed that the business is working on a new programme for macOS Catalyst that looks “exactly” like the iPad app it stated earlier.
