Zaheer Babar Sidhu to lead Pakistan Air Force until 2028

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Defence has issued a notification extending the tenure of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu as Chief of the Pakistan Air Force, following approval from the President of Pakistan.

According to the notification, his tenure has been extended for an additional two years. The extension will take effect from March 19, 2026.

The notification has been issued under Article 243 of the Constitution of Pakistan and Clause 10B of the Air Force Act.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu on two-year extension.

Prime Minister extended congratulations and best wishes to Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu on the approval of his two-year service extension.

He said that under Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu’s leadership, the Pakistan Air Force demonstrated exceptional professional capability, downing enemy fighter aircraft and establishing its dominance.

The Prime Minister added that all national institutions will work together for the defence, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, reaffirming the resolve to make the country’s defence invincible through collective efforts.

The move ensures continuity in the leadership of the Pakistan Air Force and reflects the government’s confidence in Air Chief Marshal Sidhu’s guidance of the force during a critical period of regional security and modernization initiatives.
