Police lodge FIR against PTI workers over clashes in city

KARACHI: The Karachi Police have registered cases against 5,000 Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI)  workers on the charge of firing and rioting at Clifton Teen Talwar(three swords).

The police said 15 PTI workers have been arrested under the FIR registered in Frere police station. The arrested accused include Gulzar Qazi, Ayaz Rahim, Sultan Rahim, Abdul Sattar, and Muhammad Fahim, while the non-arrested 4000 to 5000 unknown persons. The accused are also named in the case.

According to the police, 11 different provisions and section 7 ATA of anti-terrorism have also been included in the case filed by the government.

According to the text of the case, PTI workers were preparing for a violent protest on social media for a couple of days. On Sunday evening, 4000 to 5000 workers from different areas gathered at the three swords, and PTI took out a rally without permission.

He was also accused of injuring more than a dozen police officers and employees in the case, barred by the police from disrupting traffic and other matters.

The panic spread due to firing and stone pelting by PTI workers while shops were closed due to terrorism by PTI leadership and workers.
