Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan says the lesson of Karbala is to stand steadfastly against wickedness and tyranny.

Addressing Shuhada-e-Karbala Conference in Sialkot on Tuesday, she said the followers of Islam and Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) challenge oppression, believing that the final victory will be of righteousness.

The Special Assistant said the people of occupied Kashmir are also facing a Karbala-like situation and they have been boldly facing the Indian brutalities and barbarism.

She said India has deprived the Kashmiris of their religious right in addition to other basic rights, disallowing them to observe Youm-e-Ashur.

Expressing solidarity with Kashmiri brethren, Firdous Ashiq Awan said Pakistan will be standing by them until they secure freedom from the Indian occupation.
