Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar has said that Coronavirus in Pakistan is not as deadly as in Europe.
In a statement, the federal minister Asad Umer said that COVID-19 can be avoided by changing one’s lifestyle, adding that those who do not take precautionary measures are endangering their lives and the lives of others.
Asad Umar said that there was no change in the basic strategy of the government, the strategy from the beginning was to reduce the spread of the pandemic, where there are more cases to lockdown.
“Nations cannot be shut down for months and years. This is our strategy from day one and will continue,” he said.
Talking about lockdown, he further said that people all over the world have suffered due to lockdown, 150 million people in Pakistan have gone through severe hardships due to lockdown.
Asad Umar further said that the Ehsaas Cash program has reached more than one crore families while the government’s small business scheme has provided relief to 3.5 million traders. International organizations around the world have also appreciated the relief efforts in the country.
Besides, the Federal Minister said that Pak Negahban is launching app related to hospital system, Negahban app will have real time updates of ventilators in hospitals for which data of all hospitals of the country has been collected in one place. NDM has helped in data collection, and the app will be rolled out to all rescue teams and health workers by tonight.

Asad Umar said that the government is working day and night to improve the testing system related to the virus, today more than one hundred laboratories are conducting tests, more than 2200 can be tested daily.
He said that there was a shortage of ventilators in Pakistan and work has been done to increase their number and now the number has doubled.
Asad Umar said that most of the security equipment is being manufactured and exported in the country.
