LAHORE: Punjab Governor Omar Sarfaraz Cheema on Monday said he would approach the court to take action against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif under the Article 6.
He said the ongoing constitutional and legal crisis in Punjab was because of the prime minister and his son’s breaching of the constitution and illegitimate use of power.
“I will bring the violators of the constitution and law before the court, insha Allah,” he said.
On May 10, former prime minister Imran Khan had demanded from the Supreme Court (SC) to take notice of the denotification of Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman had reprimanded the decision to remove Cheema from his office. He demanded immediate action by the SC with regard to the cabinet division’s notification.

He had termed the decision as a blatant violation of the Constitution and law in Punjab.
The PTI supremo had said that a puppet chief minister was imposed on the province and now imported puppets had been fomenting constitutional anarchy and chaos in Punjab.
Imran Khan had also said that the decision had been taken in a very embarrassing manner and the attempt had been an insult to the President of Pakistan as he had already rejected the advice to remove Omar Cheema from his post.
On May 11, Omar Sarfraz Cheema had said that no one would be able to remove him from his office by saying that he was not Usman Buzdar who was removed from his office by thugs.
