In Islamabad, there is a surge in the number of Pakistanis visiting passport offices, with thousands of applicants arriving daily, putting pressure on the offices.
Due to the large number of applicants, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passport has announced that passport delivery counters will be operational on weekends nationwide until March 15, 2024.
Mustafa Qazi, Director General of Immigration and Passports, stated that the initiative is intended to assist Hajj pilgrims. He mentioned that pilgrims preparing for Hajj can also utilize passport delivery centers on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) until mid-March.
Additionally, he emphasized that individuals traveling abroad can visit passport offices from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., including on Fridays, to acquire their passports.
Qazi confirmed that the nationwide issuance of passports for Hajj pilgrims has commenced, bringing relief and excitement to thousands preparing for the pilgrimage. Furthermore, regional passport offices are open on Saturdays to assist with passport applications.

Biometric verification is an integral part of the process, followed by the submission of passports to the banks. The spokesperson stressed the significance of pilgrims adhering to the deadlines.
For those unaware, the final date for submitting passports to banks is February 26, 2024.
