A proposal to lower petroleum prices has been submitted to the federal authorities. According to media reports, the summary suggests lowering petrol costs by Rs 3.70 per liter. If approved, the price of petrol would drop from Rs 265.45 to Rs 261.75 per liter.
It is also recommended to reduce high-speed diesel prices by Rs 4.28 per liter, bringing them down from Rs 284.44 to Rs 280.16 per liter once approved.

Resources say the proposal also includes reducing kerosene oil by Rs 0.73 per liter and light-speed diesel by Rs 6.35 per liter.
The brand new charges are expected to take effect from December 1, 2025, probably giving relief to the public for the New Year.
