Vegetables Prices Drop in Ramadan: Tomato & Onion Prices Decreased

During Ramadan, vegetable prices in Islamabad have dropped significantly, offering relief to consumers. Onions now cost 264 rupees per kilogram, down by 66 rupees, while tomatoes are priced at 105 rupees per kilogram, a reduction of 55 rupees. Potato prices have also decreased moderately, from 75 rupees to 64 rupees per kilogram.

The Islamabad district administration has proactively tackled this problem by targeting hoarders and profiteers. The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad highlighted the continuous efforts of assistant commissioners and price control magistrates in carrying out daily raids against hoarders to guarantee fair prices for consumers.

Inspections are being carried out rigorously in vegetable markets, Ramadan bazaars, and shops to prevent artificial price hikes. This focused effort seeks to alleviate consumer burdens and combat unethical market practices during Ramadan.
