Three dead after falling through ice on Arizona lake

According to representatives of Coconino County, the victims had been strolling on Woods Canyon Lake.

In the heart of Arizona, three people perished after falling through the ice of a lake.

The three fell through while walking on Woods Canyon Lake, roughly 30 miles from Payson in central Arizona.

According to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, the victims have been named as Narayana Muddana, 49, Gokul Mediseti, 47, and Haritha Muddana. The age of Haritha Muddana remained unknown.

They resided in Chandler, Arizona, and according to officials, they are from India.

Emergency personnel discovered Haritha Muddana’s body Monday night and kept looking for the other victims, according to officials.

Sheriff’s office: “Responding deputies and fire units were able to rescue the girl from the water and apply life-saving procedures but were unsuccessful.”

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies then obtained a boat from a lakeside rental company and performed a more thorough search.

The three were discovered and named on Tuesday.

The situation is being looked into.
