West Virginia firing kills one deputy, another injured

So according state police, a Nicholas County deputy and one suspected gunman were killed, and another deputy was injured in a shooting in West Virginia on Friday night.

As per US news agency, the injured Nicholas County deputy was taken to a hospital for treatment. The deputy was shot in the leg, according to reports.

According to West Virginia State Police, a second alleged shooter has been apprehended.

The incident occurred after serving a warrant at a mobile home on Friday night.

From inside one of the residences, the alleged shooters opened fire on the officers.

After many agencies reacted to the shooting, there was a large police presence at the crime scene.

Families are being notified, therefore no identities have been released yet.

In a statement uploaded to Facebook, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice encouraged “all West Virginians to keep Nicholas County in your prayers right now.”

He continued, “Our first responders are heroes, they run to the fire to keep us safe, and we should never forget their sacrifice. Especially in moments like these, all of us should realise the obvious — just how needed our law enforcement heroes are. We should have this exact same thought every day because all of us depend on and need these heroes every moment of every day.
