The most popular search engine and tech-giant Google is celebrating Pakistan’s 73rd Independence Day by dedicating a doodle.

The doodle which is green in color features a picture of the historic Khyber Pass with Pakistan’s flag flying high on its top to mark August 14.

Google’s doodles have drawn inspiration from the Lahore Fort and the Indus Valley Civilization.

The nation is celebrating Independence Day as ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ to express full support to Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.

In the past, Google has paid tribute to renowned Pakistani celebrities on their birthdays and anniversaries including legendary musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi, Shehenshah-e Ghazl Mehdi Hassan and prominent artist Syed Sadequain Ahmed Naqvi with its doodles.

Pakistan’s 73rd Independence Day is being celebrated today as Kashmir Solidarity Day.

A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad where President Arif Alvi was the chief guest.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on the occasion of Independence Day and Solidarity Kashmir said that we were with Kashmiris, are with them and will always be together.

Independence Day in the Federal capital Islamabad started with 31 artillery and 21, 21 artillery in the provincial capitals.

Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, to address solidarity with Kashmiris and will also address the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir.
