KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan recorded a significant decline on Thursday, with the per-tola rate dropping by Rs5,000.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association(APGJA), the price of gold fell to Rs426,562 per tola, reflecting a decrease of Rs5,000. Similarly, the rate for 10 grams of gold dropped by Rs4,286, bringing it down to Rs365,708.
In the international market, gold prices also saw a downturn, falling by $50 to $4,042 per ounce.
Earlier, gold prices across the country witnessed a sharp rise on Wednesday, with the per-tola rate surging by Rs7,900, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association.
Following the increase, the price of 24-karat gold has climbed to Rs431,562 per tola, marking one of the significant jumps in recent weeks. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs6,773, reaching Rs369,994.
In the international market, gold also recorded a substantial rise, gaining $79 to reach $4,092 per ounce, reflecting global economic uncertainties and increased investor interest in precious metals.
