Joe Root has showcased outstanding performance in the ongoing Test series between England and India. The series has helped Joe to climb to the second spot in the MRF Tyres ICC Test batting rankings.
Joe Root scored a magician 180 unbeaten in the first innings of the second test against India at Lord’s.
He was placed No.5 before the series. His two centuries in two matches helped him rise to the second spot, and just below the top batsman Kane Williamson.
KL Rahul also jumped several spots, from 56th position to 37th.
In the bowling ranking, James Anderson’s five-wicket haul helped him secure the 6th position. Mark Wood and Muhammad Siraj also claimed the rankings, 6th and 7th positions respectively.
The test series between Pakistan and West Indies also saw some players improve significantly upon their rankings.
Pakistan skipper Babar Azam moved two spots to 6th position in ICC Test ranking for batting after he scored 30 and 55 runs. Faheem Ashraf and Fawad Alam also rose up to No.48 and 55 respectively in the batting charts.
Janson Holder, after his amazing all-round display, entered the top 10 of the ICC Test bowling rankings. He moves to the 9th spot in bowling and the 43rd spot in batting.
