Paksiatan head Coach Misbah ul Haq turn’s 47 year old today

Pakistan team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq turns 47 today. He born on May 28 in 1974

After receiving a surprise call-up ahead of Mohammad Yousuf, he starred in the World T20 that year, nearly leading Pakistan to victory in the final. He didn’t do much in the following series against South Africa, but he did score 464 runs in three Tests in India.

With his courageous rearguard attempts, he rescued Pakistan multiple times and was named team vice-captain in 2008. Misbah replaced Shahid Afridi as captain following the World Cup in 2011 and led the team to Test triumphs over Sri Lanka and England, who were thrashed 3-0. However, he resigned aside as captain a few months before the 2012 World T20, as Pakistan sought to develop a younger side.

In a series in the United Arab Emirates in 2014 against Australia, he hammered a Test century off only 56 balls, equaling Viv Richards’ record for the fastest century in Test cricket.

He retired from One-Day Internationals following the 2015 World Cup, but remained Pakistan’s Test captain, guiding the team to a 2-2 series draw in England in 2016. However, his career was put under strain later in the year when he suffered a humiliating defeat in Australia. He and Younus Khan both retired after the end of Pakistan’s West Indies tour in May 2017.

Pakistani cricketer Muhammad Irfan gives a birthday greeting to Misbah Ul Haq in his tweeter account. “Happy Birthday @captainmisbahpk Bhai. A visionary leader and understanding captain that took Pakistan to the Number 1 position in ICC test ranking. I pray the best for you in every aspect of life”
