PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court(PHC) on Tuesday approved a three-week protective bail for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The bench comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Ijaz Khan heard the CM’s bail plea.
During proceedings, the Assistant Attorney General informed the court that 48 cases have been registered against Gandapur in Islamabad, adding that the government seeks early disposal of these cases to avoid repeated appearances by the Chief Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Sahibzada Asadullah said, “We grant the Chief Minister immunity in this case. At the next hearing, other parties should submit a report and the lawyer should appear.”
Later, the court adjourned the hearing of the case, giving the Chief Minister KP 3 weeks of security bail.
On the other hand, arrest warrants against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur remain intact in the liquor and arms recovery case.
The case was scheduled for hearing at the Peshawar District and Sessions Court, but proceedings were adjourned due to the unavailability of Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hasan.
The court postponed the hearing until September 24, while maintaining the arrest warrants issued against the Chief Minister.
