In a big step to stop illegal travel, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has introduced a modern immigration control system at Sialkot International Airport.

The FIA has opened a fully equipped Second-Line Immigration Control Office at the airport with the support of ICMPD and the Embassy of Denmark.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the new office has advanced forensic and IT tools that help officers check forged passports, fake visas, and suspicious travel documents more effectively.

Officials said the upgraded system will strengthen the fight against human smuggling and illegal immigration. It also improves document screening to meet international standards.

Similar offices are already working at Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, and Peshawar airports.

The spokesperson added that this new facility in Sialkot shows the close cooperation between Pakistan and the European Union in making air travel safer and more secure.
