RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), declared that the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s martyrs are the pride of the nation and will never be forgotten.

Speaking to officers and troops during his visit to Wana, South Waziristan, on Sunday, the COAS emphasized that with the steadfast support of the people, the Pakistan Army, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies (LEAs), remains resolute in eliminating terrorism and extremism.

This collective effort aims to restore lasting peace and stability across the country, Insha’Allah, according to an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.

General Munir commended the resilience and determination of the officers and troops, expressing the nation’s pride in their unwavering commitment in the fight against terrorism.

He recognized the courage, resilience, and dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces as the foundation of the country’s sovereignty. Describing the soldiers and LEAs as the nation’s true heroes, he stated that their bravery and selflessness inspire the entire nation.

The COAS also reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to pursuing and eliminating "Fitna Al Khwarij," alongside hunting down its facilitators, abettors, and financiers who will be held accountable for their actions against the state.

During the visit, General Munir was briefed on the current security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations. The COAS was warmly received by the Corps Commander Peshawar upon his arrival in Wana.
