ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed serious concern over continued atrocities against minorities in India, condemning incidents of violence and discrimination targeting vulnerable communities.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, Pakistan strongly condemned acts of vandalism and violence against Christian individuals during Christmas celebrations.
The spokesperson also denounced ongoing violence against Muslims, calling it a grave violation of human rights.
The Foreign Office urged the international community to take notice of what it described as serious and systematic violations of minority rights in India and called for concrete action to ensure the protection of fundamental rights of marginalized communities.
The statement further alleged that a state-backed campaign against Muslims is ongoing in India, expressing concern over the demolition of Muslim homes and attempts to shield perpetrators in cases such as the lynching of Mohammad Akhlaq.
According to the spokesperson, such incidents have intensified fear and insecurity among Muslims across India.
Pakistan reiterated its demand for accountability and respect for international human rights obligations, urging India to safeguard the rights and dignity of all its minorities.
