In front of 90,000 spectators at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23, India defeated Pakistan in the T20 World Cup with an electrifying last-ball victory thanks to an unbeaten 82 from Virat Kohli.

With superstar Kohli as the hero, the Indians narrowly defeated their fierce opponents by four wickets in a thrilling final over.

As India limped to just 45-4 after 10 overs, halfway through their chase, things appeared to be going horribly wrong.

However, Kohli and Hardik Pandya (40), who had been struggling, launched a comeback by putting on a century stand. As a result, India needed 16 runs off Mohammad Nawaz’s final over to reach their goal.

India was eliminated from the tournament in the semi-finals, though, as England defeated the Men in Blue by 10 wickets and advanced to a final against Pakistan thanks to superb unbeaten half-centuries from Alex Hales and Jos Buttler.

When chasing 169 in Adelaide, Hales hammered seven sixes in his 86, and Buttler hit three in an enthralling batting display to advance to the final in Melbourne with four overs remaining.

With 296 runs in six innings and the help of four fifty-plus scores, Kohli finished the competition as the leading run scorer.
