British media sources indicate that Tottenham will enhance their attacking options by acquiring Richarlison from Everton in a transaction that might reach £60 million ($73 million).

The Athletic said that an initial fee of £50 million plus £10 million in add-ons had been agreed upon for the Brazilian international.

In 2018, Richarlison signed Everton from Watford for £50 million.

The 25-year-old scored 53 goals in 152 appearances for the Toffees, including six key goals in the final nine games of the previous season to keep the club in the Premier League.

According to the international sports news agencies, Everton must finalize the transaction on Thursday in order to balance its finances before the end of its fiscal year on June 30.

Three years ago, Everton generated a deficit of £372 million.

Leeds and demoted Burnley reportedly questioned Everton’s Financial Fair Play compliance in a letter to the Premier League.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, Premier League standards allowing clubs to lose £105 million over a three-year span were loosened.

Richarlison’s move to Spurs satisfies his desire to participate in the Champions League, but he will face great competition for playing time with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min filling the positions he played most frequently for Everton.

Tottenham has already shown their support for manager Antonio Conte during the transfer window by acquiring winger Ivan Perisic, midfielder Yves Bissouma, and a new backup goalkeeper in Fraser Forster.
