PCB and Sindh Government join hands to upgrade Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Sindh government will jointly upgrade Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad to meet international standards.

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah met at the PCB chairman’s office in Islamabad and agreed to upgrade Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad. They discussed promoting cricket, hosting international matches, and restoring various stadiums across Sindh during the meeting.

A PCB team will visit Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad next week to inspect the facilities and prepare a report for Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the Sindh government will financially assist the PCB in upgrading and renovating Niaz Stadium, following the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi stated that the country’s cricket board is developing new venues and prioritizing the revival of international cricket in Hyderabad and Faisalabad.

He said the Pakistan Cricket Board aims to host an international match at Niaz Stadium later this year. The stadium last hosted an international ODI in 2008. Provincial Minister Jam Khan Shoro and PCB COO Sumair Ahmed Syed also attended the meeting.
