PCB fines Naseem Shah Rs20 million for violating contract over social media post

Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has been fined Rs20 million for violating his central contract, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced.

According to the PCB, the disciplinary committee issued a show-cause notice to the player on March 27. After receiving his reply, a personal hearing was held to review the matter. A three-member disciplinary committee conducted the hearing on March 30 and found that several clauses of the central contract had been violated.

Despite Naseem Shah offering an unconditional apology, the committee decided to impose a fine of Rs20 million. The PCB also dismissed his social media adviser and said the adviser has been blacklisted.

The board further stated that it remains committed to maintaining professional standards and ensuring that all players strictly follow the terms of their central contracts. The action has been taken to reinforce discipline and uphold the rules set by the board.
