High-level flood in River Chenab; Ravi embankment blown up to save Head Sidhnai

Due to the release of a massive amount of water from India, water levels in the rivers Chenab, Ravi, Sutlej, and Indus have risen dangerously, causing severe flooding in several regions of Pakistan. To protect Head Sidhnai near Pirmahal from potential damage, the protective embankment “Mai Safuran” of River Ravi was deliberately blown up using explosives at two different points.
