Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil its most affordable iPhone of the year, the iPhone 17e, much earlier than initially expected.

Earlier reports suggested a spring launch, but a recent Macwelt report claims the device will be introduced on February 19, 2026—coincidentally the same date Apple launched the iPhone 16e in 2025.

According to the report, the iPhone 17e will feature MagSafe support, allowing users to enjoy 25W wireless charging, a functionality not available in the iPhone 16e. Another report indicates that the design of the iPhone 17e will closely resemble last year’s iPhone 16e.

The new model is expected to omit the Dynamic Island design for the front camera. Internally, the device will house the A19 chip, along with the second-generation Apple C1X modem and N1 wireless network chip. Other features are expected to be similar to the iPhone 16e.

The starting price of the iPhone 17e is reported to be around $599, making it Apple’s most budget-friendly model this year.
