Samsung Electronics has revealed that Google Photos will become a dedicated app on its TVs starting in 2026, allowing users to view photos and videos on a large screen without the need for casting or sideloading.
The initial rollout will feature curated Memories content, giving users the ability to enjoy personalized photo and video collections directly on their Samsung TVs.
For the first six months, this functionality will remain exclusive to Samsung devices. Users simply need to sign in with their Google account to access their content.
Samsung also plans to introduce AI-powered enhancements, including image templates generated with Google’s Nano Banana technology and a Remix feature that transforms existing photos into new artistic styles.
Shimrit Ben-Yair, Vice President of Google Photos and Google One, commented, “Google Photos is a home for people’s photos and videos, helping them organize and bring their memories to life.
We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs, enabling people to enjoy their favorite moments on a larger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways.”
This launch underscores Samsung’s commitment to integrating AI-driven entertainment features and strengthening its smart TV ecosystem, providing users with a more seamless and immersive experience for enjoying digital content at home.
