OpenAI has introduced a new health-focused section in ChatGPT to help users find medical information more easily. The company recently revealed that more than 40 million people are already using ChatGPT to search for health-related information, which is why this new tool has now been launched under the name “ChatGPT Health.”

While users were already able to ask medical questions directly, the company has now created a separate section in the AI chatbot specifically designed for health-related conversations. This new section is aimed at making it easier for users to ask questions about symptoms, medical reports, and general health concerns.

One of the most important features of ChatGPT Health is its ability to connect with users’ medical records and wellness apps. By using this data, the chatbot can provide more useful and personalized answers. According to OpenAI, users will have full control over how much access they allow the chatbot to their records. If a user connects an app to ChatGPT Health, the company will clearly explain what data is being collected from third-party sources.

OpenAI also said that it is working with more than 260 doctors and dozens of medical experts from over 60 countries to improve the quality and accuracy of the responses provided in the health section.

The company clarified that the purpose of this feature is to assist users, not to replace doctors. OpenAI said ChatGPT Health will not diagnose illnesses or provide medical treatment but will instead help people by answering everyday health questions and helping them better understand medical information.

The new health section is available in the main menu on the left side of the ChatGPT app. However, the feature is not yet available to all users, and those interested will need to join a waiting list. OpenAI said the tool will be rolled out to all users in the near future.
