Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have claimed responsibility for coordinated attacks on multiple US-linked military installations in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain. The strikes mark a significant escalation in regional hostilities.
Tehran stated that the operations were carried out in retaliation for recent American military actions near the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iranian state media, the attacks targeted the US Al-Azraq airbase in Jordan, where long-range missiles reportedly struck key assets, including F-35 fighter hangars and command-and-control centres. Iranian authorities warned that any further US operations would trigger an even stronger response.
Jordanian military officials confirmed that five incoming missiles were intercepted by their air defence systems, with no casualties or reported damage. Meanwhile, Kuwait and Bahrain activated security alerts as air defence units responded to unidentified aerial threats.

Iranian reports also claimed that the US Fifth Fleet facility in Bahrain was struck by drones. Additionally, Iran cited damage to a telecommunications tower and two water tanks in its southern Sirik region caused by previous US actions, which prompted its retaliatory strikes.
Separately, Iranian media reported that a US MQ-9 Reaper drone was shot down near Jask, though this has not been independently verified by US authorities.
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had carried out precision strikes on Iranian air defence systems, radar installations, and command centres near the Strait of Hormuz, describing the action as a countermeasure to ongoing threats.
Former US President Donald Trump described the US response as “strong and decisive,” highlighting the intensifying confrontation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Tehran would continue to respond to any further aggression, stressing that its armed forces would not leave attacks unanswered.
The latest escalation reflects a widening conflict in the region, raising concerns about further instability as diplomatic efforts to resolve tensions remain challenged.
