According to the ministry, Russian missiles also hit an artillery training centre in Ukraine’s Sumy area, where foreign instructors worked. As per the report, another strike in the Odesa region destroyed a “foreign mercenaries'” camp.

Meanwhile, before resuming peace talks with Russia, Ukraine wants to bolster its ground positions with new arms supply from the West, according to Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia.

“Our armed forces are ready to use (the new weapons)…and then I think we can initiate a new round of talks from a strengthened position,” he said on Friday on Ukraine’s state television.
