UNITED NATIONS: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has decried the deadly suicide attack in Peshawar on Monday in which three Federal Constabulary (FC) men were martyred.

“We obviously condemn this attack…,” the UN Chief’s Spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said in response to a question at the regular noon briefing at UN Headquarters in New York.

The terrorist attack took place at the FC headquarters located on the busy Saddar Road in Peshawar.

Earlier, three suicide attackers launched a coordinated assault on the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters in Peshawar.

According to security officials, one attacker detonated explosives at the main gate, while the other two entered the premises and opened fire. Three FC personnel were martyred during the attack.

Security forces responded promptly, neutralizing the remaining attackers inside the compound. Authorities recovered two suicide vests and eight hand grenades from the attackers.

Officials confirmed that the assault was meticulously planned, but swift action by security forces prevented further casualties. Preliminary reports suggest the attackers were of Afghan origin.
