In this dark comedy, two seemingly unrelated people band together to exact revenge. The official synopsis reads, “A deposed queen bee at a luxury private high school establishes a secret alliance with an unassuming new student to seek revenge on each other’s foes.”

The movie’s premise examines the relationship between transfer student Eleanor (Maya Hawke), who is outed by a girl based on a rumor, and popular girl Drea (Camila Mendes), who seeks to exact revenge on her lover for releasing her sex tape. After an unexpected encounter, the two friends decide to support one another by taking revenge on each other’s tormentors.

Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes co-star in the movie, and Sophie Turner plays a bully in high school. Turner, who is best known for playing Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, is seen in a separate avatar. She claims to have had the “greatest fun” filming it in an Instagram post.

The movie, according to its director and writer Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, is a “backward-engineered” tale of retribution. What would it be like to put the exciting, suspenseful stakes of a Hitchcock film in a high school setting?

“I think there are different points where everyone’s the villain and everyone’s the hero in this story. And that is so much of what growing up is. I wanted to make something that paints with all the colors of adolescence,” she added.
