The Department of Interior and Tribal Affairs in Peshawar have identified 23,451 illegal Afghans in major cities across 32 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Department of Interior and Tribal Affairs in Peshawar has gathered data on these individuals and forwarded it to the Ministry of Interior.

Peshawar, the capital city, stands out with 17,118 illegal Afghan residents being identified. Among its neighborhoods, Matni has 4,103, Sadar has 5,892, and Shah Alam has 1,897 illegal Afghan residents.

The efforts to compile this data extend beyond Peshawar. In Khyber, 1,523 illegal Afghan residents were identified, while Kohat had 1,228, Lower Ziristan had 607, and Bannu had 370.

The data collection process encompasses various regions, including Bitgram, Tank, Torghar, Kohistan Swabi, Waziristan, and Mansehra, indicating a comprehensive approach by the Home Department.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the challenges posed by illegal residency, particularly from Afghanistan, and underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between different departments to ensure the accurate identification and management of such cases.
