She said “As a new parent, I’m constantly reminded that I will never force my goals, anxieties, or upbringing on my child. Children come through you, not from you, I’ve always believed. There is no such notion as “this is my child, and I will mould everything.” They come to you in order to find and construct their own life. My parents were non-judgmental in a way because they recognised how much it benefitted me.”
