On a reality show, veteran actress Leena Chandavarkar mentioned how late Kishore Kumar met and how they got married to each other.

When host Jay Bhanushali asked the late singer’s wife about their love story. She said: “I met Kishore Ji for the first time on the sets of our film. Where Sanjeev Kumar ji cautioned me that if I didn’t tie him a Rakhi, I’d end up marrying him.” I had no idea what he said at the time would turn out to be true (laughs).”
“To return to the narrative, when I first met Kishore Kumar, the first thing he said to me was that if I wanted to settle down in life. He had a proposal ready for me. I had no idea what he was talking about at first. However, when he went on to say that he wanted to marry me. I was taken aback and declined his proposal right away.

The actress went on to say: “I had a quarrel with my father when he called me a ‘musibat’ after a few weeks. So I was so angry and hurt that I resolved to move out of my house, marry, and live my life. I recall going to Carter Road in Mumbai and dialling Kishore Ji’s number. I inquired if his proposal was still available, and if it was, I told him that I was ready to marry him, and that’s how we were married.”
