BMW M8 Coupe to be discontinued in early 2025
BMW is set to discontinue its flagship sports car, the M8 Coupe, with production ending in early 2025. According to BMWBlog, orders for the high-performance model are no longer being accepted.
BMW will complete all pending orders for the M8 Coupe in the coming weeks before officially removing it from the brand’s configurator.
While the M8 Convertible and M8 Gran Coupe sedan will continue production for a short period, they are also slated to be discontinued. No new generations of these models are planned, though the standard BMW 8 Series will remain in production.
The decision to phase out the M8 Coupe stems from low demand, primarily due to its high price point. The model has struggled to compete with rivals such as the Porsche 911 and Mercedes-AMG GT.
First introduced in 2019, the BMW M8 features a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, available in versions producing 600 and 625 horsepower. Despite its impressive performance, the M8 failed to capture a significant market share.
With the discontinuation of the M8 Coupe, BMW seems to be refining its lineup, focusing on models with stronger sales potential. The move marks the end of an era for the brand’s largest luxury sports car.
