Xiaomi is making significant strides in the electric vehicle (EV) market. After launching its first EV, the SU7 sedan, in March 2024, the company quickly gained attention and rose to prominence in the industry. With rising demand and new models on the horizon, Xiaomi is positioning itself as a formidable player in the global EV market.

In just one year, Xiaomi delivered over 150,000 SU7 units, with more than 25,000 sold in December alone. This impressive success has led the company to set an ambitious goal for 2025: to deliver 300,000 SU7 electric cars.

The Xiaomi SU7, which comes in three versions—Standard (RMB 215,900/$29,775), Pro (RMB 245,900/$33,912), and Max (RMB 299,900/$41,360)—offers an affordable and stylish option for buyers. Its competitive pricing and advanced features, such as a self-parking system, have made it a popular choice, with waiting times of up to 20 weeks.

Xiaomi’s founder Lei Jun recently showcased the SU7’s self-parking feature at a live event, while also unveiling a limited-edition red model to celebrate Xiaomi’s 15th anniversary, set for delivery in March 2025.

Additionally, Xiaomi plans to expand its EV lineup with the high-performance SU7 Ultra, priced at RMB 814,900 ($112,385), and the YU7 electric SUV, expected by mid-2025. If successful in reaching its target, Xiaomi could rival industry leaders like Tesla.
