Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a proposal for a special relief package to further continue provision of subsidized electricity until June 2020 to five export-oriented sectors.

The meeting of ECC was held in Islamabad today (Wednesday) with Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the chair.

According to the details, The meeting also discussed proposal to increase wheat support price to 1400 rupees per 40 kg. It will convene a special session tomorrow afternoon to discuss a detailed plan to keep the flour prices at the lowest possible level throughout the year.

The ECC also approved National Telecommunication Corporation’s revised budget estimates for 2018-19 and 2019-20.

ECC bans on export of Onions till May 30th

Earlier, Economic Coordination Committee (E C C) approved over 451 million rupees’ technical supplementary grant for Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority.

Radio Pakistan reported that The E C C accorded this approval during its meeting held in Islamabad with Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the chair.

The ECC allowed Power Division for Gas Sales Agreement to be signed by Sui Northern Gas Pipelines on “as available” basis for 1263.2 MW RLNG based power generation Project near Trimmu Barrage.

Technical Supplementary Grant 110 million rupees was also approved in favor of Ministry of Planning and Development for Afghan Projects.
