Adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razzak Dawood has said that the present pandemic is a golden opportunity for Pakistan to pursue the “Make In Pakistan Policy”

On Tuesday Adviser to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razzak Dawood tweeted that:

The Corona Virus has changed the world as we knew it; business processes will be completely different. Such difficult times always bring out new opportunities,new products, new ways of thinking.This is a golden opportunity for Pakistan to pursue the “Make In Pakistan Policy”

Abdul Razzak Dawood further wrote:

Many businesses are on the verge of closure, many labourers are under the threat of losing their jobs. Under the circumstances the need of the hour is a policy whereby we do not import, but make products in Pakistan.

Abdul Razzak Dawood wrote:

Ministry of Commerce (MOC) is aggressively pursuing changes in the tariff structure for the upcoming budget,allowing us to facilitate local production thereby moving towards local manufacturing, pursuing our “Make In Pakistan Policy”

Earlier Abdul Razak Dawood says the country’s exports target of 25 billion dollars could not be achieved due to ongoing situation of lockdown in the country. The Advisor said exports decreased by 50 percent last month and home remittances also declined due to ongoing situation. Abdul Razak Dawood said Pakistan could get benefits from low oil prices in current evolving situation in international market and there would be no larger impact of Current Account Deficit because of decline in petroleum prices.
