Elon Musk files lawsuit against factory closure fight, threatens to leave California

Electric car maker Tesla brings action against California’s local authorities as CEO Elon Musk wants to re-open its factory amidst Coronavirus lockdown in the state.

Elon Musk also threatened to move its Tesla’s headquarters from the state to Texas or Nevada. Alameda County’s health department said the carmaker must not reopen the factory as lockdown is imposed to battle against the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

The carmaker’s owner said that now I have no other option rather than taking legal action against the county and now as they ensure Tesla’s employees to go back to work.

According to the company, it has announced the plans to restart factory in Fremont, saying that the acting official did not return calls or emails.

Alameda County’s Public Health Department did not immediately respond on this matter.

Tesla filed a lawsuit against the county in San Francisco federal court on Saturday saying that manufacturers in the state were allowed to resume their businesses.

The company said Alameda was going against the federal and California constitutions, as well as defying the governor’s order, the lawsuit said.

Elon Musk, however, complained about the matter and threatened to move its headquarters.
